Auto Fill the Subscription agreement box in one page checkout

Topic summary

Problem: After switching to Shopify’s one-page checkout, express checkout attempts often fail because a required “subscription agreement” checkbox sits at the bottom of the page and must be manually selected before payment.

Request: A method to pre-select (auto-check) this subscription agreement via the checkout link, so customers don’t need to scroll to find and tick the box.

Context: This issue did not occur with the previous multi-page checkout. Per Shopify support, reverting to multi-page checkout is not an option.

Media: An attached image shows the location/appearance of the subscription agreement checkbox.

Status: No solution or workaround has been provided in the thread yet; the poster is seeking guidance. Open/ongoing with unanswered key question: how to auto-fill the checkbox in one-page checkout or adjust the flow to avoid express checkout failures.

Hi! Our store recently switched to the one-page checkout (not good) and we’ve noticed the express checkouts don’t work as well as they did on multi-page checkout.

If you try to use express checkout it usually fails because the subscription agreement box is way down at the bottom and you have to opt-in to successfully pay.

Is there a way to setup the checkout link to have this button auto filled(selected with checkmark)? So the customer doesn’t have to scroll down to the bottom to select the checkbox

Any assistance is appreciated! Didn’t have this issue on multi page checkout and of course we can’t go back, per Shopify support
