Automated email with conditional content based on product tags within an order

We sell a range of products, made from a variety of materials (customer selected)

I would like to create an automated email, so that a set period of time after the order is fulfilled, an email is sent to the customer providing specific guidance on the materials within their order. Each material has a specific tag that is included against any product made from it

I guess what I am trying to do is

After a specific time from order fulfilment, check if order contained any products tagged with A, B, C or D.

If yes, then proceed to email, if no, exit here

Then, create a email, where content is included based on the tags

‘Thank you customer’ then check which tags were included in their order (eg A and C)

Include the text relevant to these tags in the email sent to this customer

Is this possible?

You can do something like:

  • Order fulfilled
  • If order has products that require this automation
    • Wait X days
    • Send email

The email task make require you to use a 3p email service as Shopify doesn’t offer a custom transactional email service. There are several available as actions in Flow if you search for “email” with the “installed apps” option unchecked
