Automatic Discounts - Buy 1 Product, Get Multiple Products at a discount

Hi,

I have tried several ways to get this to work, and am left wondering if I am missing something

As an example, let’s say I am selling some boots and I want to give a discount on any additional accessories (polish, brush, laces etc..)

I have setup a Buy X Get Y auto discount whereby the customer gets a 50% discount on the accessories, but the customer can only get a discount on a single accessory, not multiple.

I have attempted to use separate Buy X Get Y auto discounts for each accessory, but they are still restricted to a single discount because they are purchasing a single pair of boots.

Is there any way with auto discounts to achieve this? Or are we going to need a new discount app to allow this. If so, does anyone have a recommendation for this type of auto discounting?

Hi @SimonYUK74 As you have mentioned that you have used Buy X Get Y auto discount so that means you may be missing the option that is already there.

There is a option that you can add as much as product you want to add, and then select amount off option as it will add “discount amount will be taken off each Y item.”

There is also a option where you can add the collection add the discount will apply on all the products that are there in the collection. So you just need to select the right option according to your needs.

And you will not need any 3rd party app for this as you achieve it from shopify itself.

If you will unable to implement the same then I’m happy to do this for you, let me know. I can implement the changes so that this will work well for you.

Thanks for the reply.

I mentioned in my post that I want to use the % off option, not “Amount off each” as they are varied products and we can’t just pick a single amount to discount them by.

Even adding the collections still restricts the customer to the actual numbers you add in the Quantity fields. So if I use Customer buys 1 item and gets 1 item then that restricts them to a single discounted product. If I use customer get 3 items, then they must purchase 3 items - buying only 1 or 2 does not work.

The flexibility is not there to just say if a customer buys this item then they can have any of those items at 50% off.

I am happy to be disproved if you can screenshot this working yourself.

I have understood your requirment and what you exactly need is Buy 1 Get 50% Off on remaning items from the store. You can try using the Discount Depot App which offer the same functionality.

Can you please clarify what you’re trying to do?

  1. Buy X, get discount on exactly 1 accessory
  2. Buy X, get discount on all accessories in the cart
  3. Something else
