How does one automate a transfer to a Shopify Balance sub-account? I plan to donate X% of my sale price. I would like to automate the customer sales transaction, so that when a customer makes a purchase, X% of the product pricing will automatically go to a different Balance sub-account.
This is very much similar to the Sales Tax transfer to the ‘Sales Tax’ Balance sub-account. Sales tax is collected as an itemized line within the purchase. Once collected, it automatically transfers to the Balance ‘Sales Tax’ sub-account. (It would also be great if the X% donation is itemized within the product price as well, providing visibility to the customer of the donation amount).
Since the framework is already present for the Sales Tax automation, I would say it would take only 1-4 hours to create/test the code, depending on skill level. I’m willing to be a beta-tester. I know it will take significantly longer with more effort to implement a Change Request, in order to fully vet the SW, thoroughly test it, and ensure full integration is seamless, before an official release into Flow. That’s why I’m signing up to be a guinea pig of sorts, to test the Proof of Concept (POC).
This addition could add significant value to the Shopify Flow tool. I had significant automation capability with Atlassian Jira & Workflows. That would make Shopify Flow a true powerhouse in capability!
