Backend interface changes during Holiday Season

With all due respect to Shopfiy teams,

Whoever is OK’ing the rearrangement of the Shopify backend, particularly Products page and Discounts functionality during the MIDDLE of holiday season is wreaking unnecessary havoc on our workflows AND our BOTTOM LINE during the busiest retail time of the year.

We are a business that operates ecommerce secondary to brick and mortar. Just this past weekend, our business lost money because there was some new Discounts functionality implemented without introduction or onboarding, resulting for us in the automatic application of what should have been a one-time 20% off discount intended for an individual customer to EVERY ORDER… for 83 orders over Saturday into Sunday period. The owner who regularly enacts these one-time use customer specific discounts, did not catch that it would do this, nor had the time to carefully inspect the changes, because it’s the busiest season of the year and they had to prioritize other tasks.

It’s insane to me that these changes are being pushed out at this time, with a total lack of onboarding or tour overlay…

And not only that, the interface on Products was changed yesterday, and today it’s different AGAIN. Buttons not only have moved completely to other areas of the screen, but they look different, and some functions are now hidden behind “more” buttons.

While I’m at it, I would love to not have to RESELECT 40 different back in stock products… Meaning, we restocked products. They’re currently unavailable on the Online sales channel. I select them. I add them to our Back in Stock collection… Then all the selections are CLEARED, causing me to reselect them all just to make them Available on the Online sales channel. I know it’s been this way for damn near a year+ at this point…

Not sure what the reasons are for introducing MORE steps and MORE clicks into workflows, but this whole switching interface/functionality around MID HOLIDAY has me losing my cool.

Hope someone feels validated by this venting, and that someone with influence and consideration in Shopify passes the word along.
