Best app for increase (AOV) Average order value

Topic summary

A merchant is seeking app recommendations to increase their store’s average order value (AOV), having already tested various funnels and products without success.

Primary recommendations fall into three categories:

  • Cart upsell apps: iCart Cart Drawer and DoubleC Upsell offer cart-page and popup upsells with discount timers to create urgency
  • Bundle/kit builders: PickyStory, Fast Bundle, and MoonBundle enable merchants to combine products into packages with tiered pricing and volume discounts. These apps auto-sync inventory and require no coding
  • Cross-sell tools: ReConvert, LimeSpot Personalizer, and Capital Upsell suggest complementary products through popups and “Frequently Bought Together” features

Key strategic advice:

  • Bundle slow-moving products with bestsellers
  • Match recommendations to store type (fashion, supplements, accessories require different approaches)
  • Use visual galleries like “Shop the Look” for lifestyle products

Multiple respondents include screenshots demonstrating bundle displays and popup designs. Several apps offer free trials or plans. The discussion remains open with no clear consensus on a single best solution.

You can try to use a bundle app. A bundle can combine several products together as a single one. So the order value is increased.

Creating product kits is also useful.

It depends on what kind of items you are selling. Selling more fitness supplements is different from selling more phone accessories or clothing.

Most cross-selling recommender apps are generalized but the ones that really increase AOV are trained for specific types of stores such as fashion, cosmetics, apparel, etc etc

That’s very true indeed!

Hi Brayanzuluaga7

I’m Mahi from the “Fast bundle” app which is specialized in product bundling and helps merchants to increase their AOV by bundling their products. We suggest you choose one of these strategies to bundle your products:

  • Bundling your non-selling products with hot-selling ones.
  • Create combo products and kits
  • Bundle related products (complementary products)

We developed Fast Bundle in a way that you can have the experience of using all its features for free.

Check it out and enjoy it.

Hi, This seems like a stressing issue for many people. My recommendation is to try upsell and cross sell tactic, you can both excite customers with attractive offer and increase the average order value. You can recommend relevant products with a cross selling popup, show a special discount and count down timer to create a sense of urgency, like the picture below:

You can try DoubleC upsell & cross sell app to create such flash sale deals, it’s easy and totally free.

Hi @Brayanzuluaga7 I am Abdul Product manager at Developer’s capital. To increase AOV you can checkout our App Capital Upsell - Upsell Popup. This will enable you to create 2 type of offers,

Product bundles: where you can create product packages with discounts

or

Popup Offers: Where you can create upsell/cross offers and enable your customers to add related or complementary products to their cart generating bigger sales.

The also have the free plan you can install and test it out

Thank you

Hey mate!

I wanted to share an awesome upsell app I just discovered - Sellify https://apps.shopify.com/sellify?locale=fr

They use proven strategies from big brands like UberEats, Nike ect.

Plus, it’s free to try for a few weeks since they just launched. I think it’s the best option out there - definitely worth checking out!

Bundle is good as well = https://apps.shopify.com/moonbundle?locale=fr&st_source=autocomplete

There are so many upsell and cross‑sell apps out there that it can be hard to choose the right one. When we were researching, our must‑have features were:

• Smart triggers so that offers only appear when they make sense (e.g. after someone adds an item to their cart or reaches a certain cart value).
• A variety of pop‑up styles, from small slide‑ups to full‑screen modals, so we could test what fits our brand.
• Built‑in A/B testing so we weren’t guessing which offer, discount or design converts better.

After trying a few different tools we landed on Revenue Boost because it checks all of those boxes. It has 16+ templates (newsletter sign‑ups, free shipping bars, spin‑to‑win wheels, post‑purchase upsells, etc.), granular targeting options, statistical A/B testing, and even social proof notifications pulled from real orders. That flexibility made a big difference for us in raising our average order value.

Every store is different, but if you need an all‑in‑one upsell/cross‑sell solution it’s worth checking out: RevenueBoost: Popups & Upsell - Spin-to-Win Popups, Upsells & Social Proof in 1 App | Shopify App Store.

Increasing average order value (AOV) often requires a mix of merchandising tactics and on‑site prompts. The original poster noted they’ve tried different funnels and products but still struggle to raise AOV【294092713109708†L111-L117】. A few proven strategies include:

  • Product bundles/kits: combine complementary items and offer them at a slightly discounted bundle price. This works well for fashion, beauty and home goods where customers naturally buy related products.
  • Volume or tiered discounts: incentivise larger orders by offering free shipping or increasing discounts at certain cart values (e.g., spend €50 for free shipping; spend €100 and get €15 off).
  • Upsells and cross‑sells: display relevant add‑on products in the cart drawer or during checkout; keep the offer simple so it’s easy for shoppers to accept.
  • Free‑shipping bars and progress indicators: show shoppers how close they are to qualifying for free shipping or a bonus gift—this can encourage them to add one more item.
  • A/B testing: test different offers, copy and designs to see which combination yields a higher AOV.

Many apps can help you implement these tactics. Revenue Boost includes free‑shipping bars, upsell pop‑ups (slide‑up or modal), BOGO promotions and tiered discounts that automatically apply at checkout. You can target offers based on cart value, products viewed or customer segments, and the built‑in analytics/A‑B testing lets you see which campaign lifts AOV the most. Pricing starts at $9/month for the Starter plan, $29/month for Growth and $79/month for Pro (all with a 14‑day free trial).

For context, here’s how some other popular AOV‑focused apps are priced:

  • iCart Cart Drawer & Upsell: free for the first 100 orders; paid tiers are $9/month (up to 100 orders), $19/month (up to 200 orders) and $29/month (up to 500 orders)【595572333790002†L270-L324】.
  • ReConvert (Upsell.com): free for development stores; Basic $4.99/month + 0.75 % of upsell revenue (up to 50 orders), Growth $9.99/month (up to 100 orders) and Business $19.99/month (up to 200 orders)【598043846027299†L270-L320】.
  • Honeycomb Upsell Funnels: free plan for up to 100 funnel views; Silver $54.99/month, Gold $109.99/month and Platinum $169.99/month with increasing view limits【595388527577538†L24-L88】.
  • PickyStory: free plan; standard tiers at $9.50/month, $24.50/month and $49.50/month【213891000452390†L148-L155】.

Ultimately, the best app depends on your product mix and budget. It may be worth trialling a couple of options—including bundle builders and upsell apps—and combining them with clear tiered discounts and free‑shipping thresholds to encourage larger orders.

Hello @Brayanzuluaga7

Thank you for sharing your situation. Increasing AOV can be hard, even after trying different funnels and products.

One tool that often helps is MultiVariants. It lets customers choose several sizes, colors, or flavors of the same product from one page and add everything to the cart at once. This makes people buy more without any extra steps.

Here are a few real-world scenarios where this boosts AOV naturally:

  • Food brands: Shoppers pick several flavors at once instead of buying only one.
  • Apparel stores: Customers choose multiple sizes or colors without navigating back and forth.
  • Wholesale shops: Minimum quantities or mix-and-match rules help raise the base cart value.

Shoppers usually spend more because they don’t have to go back and forth between pages.

You can check out this demo product:

You can also test it free for 7 days to see if it helps increase your AOV before committing to anything.

If you need help setting it up or choosing the right settings, just let me know.
Thank you.

Hi @Brayanzuluaga7,
When it comes to increasing AOV, you’ve probably thought about running promotion strategies such as:

  • Product bundling

  • Quantity discounts / tiered offers

  • Gift with purchase (GWP): BOGO, BXGY, Spend more get more, etc.

  • Upselling & cross-selling

  • Free shipping thresholds

  • and more

To run these promotions smoothly, the most effective approach is to use a third-party app that specializes in promotions.

If you’re looking for a single app to manage all of these campaigns, BOGOS could be a suitable option.

Hello @Brayanzuluaga7

If your goal is to increase Average Order Value, iCart Cart Drawer Cart Upsell app is the right solution for you. It focuses specifically on optimizing the cart stage, which is one of the highest-impact points in the entire funnel. Many merchants overlook the cart experience, but this is actually where customers are most open to adding just one more item making it one of the fastest ways to lift AOV without changing your products or ads.

Here are a few ways iCart helps you increase AOV:

1. You can show personalized upsells & recommendations inside the cart drawer, cart popup or full cart

2. Bundles with discounted prices

4. Progress bar that encourages customers to buy more

5. Smart rules and advanced targeting

6. Gift wrap & more offers

7. Advanced analytics to track iCart’s widget performance and optimize your strategies accordingly.

Example of Real AOV Lift Using iCart:
Let’s say your current AOV is $45.
With iCart features enabled:

  • A free shipping bar encourages an extra $10 item

  • A relevant upsell adds $12 more

  • Occasional gift wrapping adds $3-$4 per order

Your new AOV could realistically move from $45 → $58–$65, depending on your traffic and pricing structure.

To check the demo, you can visit this demo link.

Incentive! To increase AOV, one of the most effective ways is to incentivize customers to increase their order value.

Soo…How? By offering rewards or discounts. This can be a free gift with purchase (GWP) or a coupon that only applies once a minimum spend is met (for example, 20% off orders over $100).

Another key lever is increasing LTV (lifetime value), which is why I built Discount Spark. Discount Spark lets you set per-customer usage limits on coupon codes (for example, 5 uses per customer) to nudge repeat purchases and turn one-time buyers into loyal customers.

You can also create replenishable rewards (for example, 1 use every 30 days), so your promotions align with your product lifecycle and naturally drive repeat orders.

You can learn more about the app here: https://salespark.app/apps/discount-spark

AOV is a tough one! Since you’ve already tried traditional funnels, you might want to try a different psychological approach using Batna.

It’s an AI negotiation tool that replaces static coupons with a ‘Make an Offer’ button. The reason it helps with AOV is that you can train the AI to only accept deeper discounts if the customer adds more to their cart. It turns the checkout into a game where the customer buys more just to ‘win’ a better deal. It’s a great way to push higher volume while the AI protects your margins in real-time.

@Brayanzuluaga7 Totally get this, AOV can be really stubborn even after testing a lot. We went through the same thing and realized it wasn’t about changing products or funnels, but about adding small, relevant extras at the right moment, like in the cart or right after checkout. Simple bundles and one click add ons made a much bigger impact than heavy discounts.

I’m Alexis from keficommerce.com, and this is exactly the kind of use case we see with keficommerce.com. It makes it easy to test bundles, add ons, and post purchase offers without overcomplicating the setup. Those small changes are often what finally move AOV. Hope this helps.
