I am at the final stages before publishing my shopify store but just need to make sure all my customers and order history is uploaded from wordpress to the shopify website.
Can anyone advise the best way to do this without having to have an ongoing subscription for a 3rd party app please?
I would use an app with a one-time payment. I recommend AppsByB: WooCommerce Importer, but that’s mostly because I am one of the developers
Most apps have a free tier, so for smaller shops (up to 50 products, up to 10 orders) you would be able to find an app that’s free of charge.
To deal with everything with CSV’s is a hassle, especially if you want to import meta data and orders. There is no native order import via CSV in Shopify, so you would need an app anyway.
You can install this just in Shopify. You do need to create API keys, but there is an easy explanation. Other apps work the same way.
Those numbers are not shocking. Our app does blog posts as well. The product images will automatically be uploaded to Shopify. If you have other images in the wp-content folder that you want to safeguard, you would need a backup app for Wordpress. There are plenty in the Wordpress plugin directory.
Yes, I would always make a backup, just in case you need anything later. Database and ‘wp-content/media’, but if you have the possibility, I would make a full backup of all files and database.
