Best practice for Instagram integration

I’m looking for best practice advice integrating Shopify with Instagram. I’m finding the integration very clunky.

For example, if a Shopify product has variants, then only 1 photo gets pulled into the Instagram catalog. So if most of your products have variants then your Instagram catalog is very poor. Is it possible to add more images, or do people just have to create a catalog manually?

Any other advice about shopify/instagram integration?

I suggest you the following steps for improving your Shopify and Instagram integration. So

  1. Use Shopify’s Instagram Channel: This is the official way to connect your store with Instagram and ensures you can tag products directly.

  2. Manage Product Images: Shopify may pull only one image per product variant into Instagram. To improve this, make sure the main image you choose is compelling. If multiple images are crucial, consider listing each variant separately.

  3. Manual Catalog Setup: If automated syncing isn’t meeting your needs, use Facebook Business Manager to manually create and manage your Instagram catalog. This provides more control over which images and products are displayed.

  4. Sync Regularly: Keep your product feed updated to ensure your Instagram shop reflects the latest products and changes.

  5. Focus on Quality: Use high-quality, engaging images that represent your products well and align with your brand.

Hope that will help you.

Thanks for that info. It is pretty much what I suspected (i.e. there is no way to have a synced catalog with variants and more than 1 image).

Do you know if it is possible to have part of the catalog synced … then manually add the products with variants? That is … mix up products from a manual catalog with products from a synced catalog?
