I have a shop that was previously designed to accommodate online apparel orders and delivery. I’ve switched to a digital download where buyers can purchase the vector files and make their own apparel. After building out the new digital product listings and using FileMonk to deliver the vector files as a download by email after checkout, it just feels really clunky on the user experience. Does anyone have a better theme or store set up suggestion that would allow for better UX? For example, something where the transaction is easier and more transparent to the user? Or where they can immediately download the file directly from the site as opposed to the email? Thanks in advance. WOD Apparel and Gear - Kill WOD’s Save Dogs – LabweRx Apparel - Est. 2016
Topic summary
A shop owner transitioned from selling physical apparel to digital vector files for customers to create their own products. They’re currently using FileMonk to deliver downloads via email after checkout but find the user experience clunky and unintuitive.
Main concern: The current setup doesn’t allow customers to download files directly from the site immediately after purchase, making the transaction feel less transparent and user-friendly.
Seeking recommendations for:
- Themes better optimized for digital product sales
- Store configurations that improve UX for digital downloads
- Solutions enabling immediate, on-site file downloads rather than email delivery
Suggestion offered: One commenter recommended Shopify’s native Digital Downloads app, which allows customers to download files directly from their Orders status page, potentially providing a more seamless experience than the current email-based system.
Have you looked at Shopify’s own Digital Downloads App?
As far as I remember, It has an option to allow customers to download digital files directly from the Orders status page.
