Hello. I’m trying to get my head around the infrastructure and flows for Shopify at the moment. My goal is to create a single cart experience with different fulfillment types. Let’s say there is a supplier who is willing to drop-ship for me but they aren’t interested in joining a network like Oberlo. I could, in theory, take the payment information from my customer and pass it along to the supplier, no? Is this a thing? Are there apps for this? Is there another way to go about this? Your thoughts are appreciated in advance.
You would just send the orders to the respective suppliers included in the order. You can use Order Automator to have those emails go out automatically, or you could manually notify the suppliers (some people send them single emails, some submit via csv or dropbox, etc depends what you and your supplier agree on).
For payment it depends what you and your supplier agree on. Some send a weekly invoice, some require payment before shipping, some monthly, all depends on your agreement with them.
