I just want to alert everyone to the shopify built in shipping insurance policy. If there is any type of marking or branding on your packaging, they will deny your claim. It is in the fine print. It’s a crazy policy as it is common practice for B2C boxes to contain branding (think amazon, for example). I recommend using a different insurance solution. We’ve been paying for the extra ship insurance for YEARS, submitted our first claim ever for a package UPS agrees UPS lost, and they immediately denied the claim because some of our outgoing packaging contains branding. In fact, the package that was actually lost DID NOT contain branding as it was a custom B2B order and not direct to consumer. Anyway, do NOT use the shopify built in insurance as they will look for reasons to deny your claim even when the shipping carrier accepts responsibility for the lost package.
