Blank space between product photos, please help

Topic summary

A Shopify store owner accidentally introduced a CSS/HTML error that creates unwanted blank space between product photos on product pages. The homepage displays correctly, but individual product pages show significant spacing issues.

Impact: The user has active ads running and reports losing sales due to this display problem.

Attempted Solutions:

  • Tried reviewing other forum posts without success
  • Attempted to revert through different code versions

Recommended Fix:
Another user (StephensWorld) suggests:

  • Reverting changes via Shopify’s saved template/section versions (accessible through the theme editor’s ‘previous versions’ dropdown)
  • If the edited section cannot be located in version history, reinstalling a fresh copy of the theme may be faster and cheaper than debugging the specific code changes
  • Notes that identifying and fixing the exact code break would be difficult and expensive

Status: The issue remains unresolved, with the store owner seeking urgent help to restore normal product page display.

I messed with the code and tried to go through different versions but can’t fix this error I caused. I have some ads rolling and I’m missing out on sales because of this. Please help, I saw some forums but it did not help.

it’s good until you click on the product

Hey Gabe,

If you’ve made edits to the theme’s coding, you can always revert them via the saved versions of the template/section you were working in.

Otherwise, your best bet is just installing/adding a fresh copy of the theme, and setting it up again. It’ll be very difficult/expensive to get someone to figure out what/how you broke the theme and fix it – so it’ll be faster and cheaper just to re-setup the theme (if you can’t find the template/section you edited in the ‘previous versions’ dropdown).

Cheers,

Stephen
