Hello! My store has been getting spam traffic from Phoenix, AZ the referring site is app.adlibraryspy.com — it’s throwing our analytics off. Is there a way to block this? I read something about adding coding to the .htaccess file, not sure what to add and if that’s an option on Shopify.
I am experiencing the same issue. Phoenix, AZ and the referring site is app.adlibrarsypy.com. I have installed two apps, Traffic Guard and Stop Spy, to prevent users from stealing data and pictures. Additionally, I already use the Disable Right Click + Country app. Stop Spy doesn’t have any analytics, but Traffic Guard does. However, despite using these apps, my analytics are still being affected. While Traffic Guard is helping to some extent, it is not completely blocking the site from interfering with my analytics.
let us know how you end up fixing it. I’ve been getting a ton of views from them too and now my Facebook ads have been blocked saying something about cybersecurity issues
I’m getting 70-100 sessions per day for the last week from this same thing adspyapp whatever. I’m not even running ads on Facebook currently so I don’t know why its up in my business.
This is what it says its for:
Free AdSpy tool for Facebook™ Ad Library. Search, view & save ads of any advertiser.
As an ad finder, Ad Library Helper is a free adspy tool for ad library and tracking competitor`s Facebook™ Ads.
Hoping to hear what you hear back from shopify too.
i was able to find the site listed in my google account and i deleted it… I can’t say for sure if this will fix the issue for me, as I just discovered and thought i"d share… i will see tomorrow if this did the trick for stopping the site from messing with my store. i have another store that isnt being affected at all by this library spy, and i never saw it listed in my google account for that store, so maybe…???
I found the below directions. I followed the steps but mine didn’t have the adsspy thing listed under there. I paused my FB ads and the traffic from them went away. Below are the steps to check if its listed under google account:
I had ZERO hits from Phoenix after deleting it from google… just a heads up people check for the website in your google list and delete it if found… seems to have worked for me.
The only way to stop this action is to block the IP address, this can also be a pain due to scammers use multiple IP addresses. If you have a visitor replay app installed that shows you the city it is coming from you can use a country/state/city blocker and block the entire city. I had the same app hitting my store and I ended up blocking the entire city for 6 months, when I uninstalled it they had moved on to someone else.
My friend & i were facing the same issue, after some investigation, i found out the company name that’s running this scammy site, it’s on their Stripe Payment page, the company is called
You mean they are not visting your store anymore? or just not showing up on google analytics page?
I don’t think the above steps will block them from entering your store!
Check your Shopify analytics page to see if you still have sessions from “app.adlibraryspy.com”
