I am building a website in the dawn theme. Somehow the pictures on the website are a little bit blurry. It looks like they are being compressed.

Go into your theme editor and make sure you select a section that only supports a single image like “image with text”. Sections that support multiple large images will naturally be shown at a lower resolution to ensure shop speed stays high. If you choose a single image section then full quality should be maintained.
If you are already doing that then I would just contact support and have them find a solution. You are using dawn so there should be no issue for them to play around with it or install a new dawn theme to see of you broke the section with your code edits.
