Bought a domain from create.net, can't connect to Shopify

I have a domain name I own on create.net. I want to set up my Shopify store to point to it, but I can find no useful information at either end on how to do this. I have found where to paste the txt file into create, but there is nothing at the Shopify end for me to paste into it for the DNS.

I tried to connect my Create domain to Shopify, and it’s been sitting there for 3 days with the message ‘The connection is not yet verified. Come back later to retry verification.’

Should it take this long?

Hello @falcieridesigns ,

Greetings from SynapseIndia, and we are glad to help you today.

To connect your domain from Create.net to your Shopify store, you need to follow these steps:

  • Log in to your Create.net account and navigate to the DNS management section.
  • Add a new CNAME record for your domain, with the host value set to “www” and the target value set to your Shopify store URL (e.g. yourstorename.myshopify.com).
  • Save the changes to your DNS settings in Create.net.
  • Log in to your Shopify account and go to the “Settings > Domains” section.
  • Click on the “Connect existing domain” button and enter your domain name.
  • Follow the prompts to complete the domain connection process. You may need to wait a few minutes for the changes to propagate.

Once the connection process is complete, you should be able to access your Shopify store using your own custom domain name.

Regarding the message you received about the connection not yet being verified, it’s possible that there was a delay in the DNS changes being propagated, which could have caused the verification process to take longer than usual. It’s also possible that there was an error during the connection process that needs to be resolved.

If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to Shopify support or Create.net support for further assistance in resolving the issue.

We would be glad to help you with further queries ,kindly let us know if you need help in any case.

Hi, Many thanks for that. Unfortunately this was not the solution as when you go into Create.net you do not see those parameters and there is no DNS management section where I can input that information, only a TXT file and it wasn’t clear how I input the information into that.

Instead, I sent my shopify details including the CName, DNS address etc to someone through Create help and they were able to set it all up for me in about 20 minutes, so at last I am up and running!

Many thanks for your response though. :slightly_smiling_face:
