I’ve called in, they confirmed it was a bug. I never got the email ticket afterwards that records my conversation and opens a ticket with them.
As of last week, they ‘updated’ the POS and now we no longer get delivery or pick up notifications on the POS. There are still two huge tiles taking up valuable real estate on that tiny check out space, but they are entirely pointless now.
This is both a communication to other retailers who offer pick up and delivery, and a feature request. My feature request is stop taking away functionality! This is the third thing they have removed in as many months. They took away our discount options, removed the spot where you use a custom discount code (wait until you still the extra convoluted steps you have to take to find that), and removed our notifications (now hidden away under the ‘orders’ section, but the BUG is that you have to click into orders constantly for it to show you the worlds tiniest little number, which is too late by then because I’ve already remembered to manually check), and took away the save cart feature (don’t bother replying with the ‘draft order’ disaster they put in its place).
I know these forums need a TON of complaining people to generate any action. The removal of the save cart feature is generating enough noise that someone may actually do something about it. I feel like not enough retailers offer delivery and local pick up so the pain might not be high enough for us to get this fixed and working - the same way it worked when I paid full price for it last month. But if you feel so inclined, please waste some of your business day reaching out to Shopify chat support (you have to tell the frustrating AI bot ‘support advisor’ a few times to even get through), and ask them to fix this so that the push notifications go BACK to showing on the huge tiles taking up space on the POS check out screen.
