My app’s ratings aren’t showing up on the app listing, even though a customer has already rated it.
Apart from that specific customer, no one else can see that rating on my app.
It seems Shopify recently scanned and hid the customer ratings for my app.
This could be part of Shopify’s review verification process. If the review still isn’t visible after some time, I’d recommend contacting Shopify Support through your Partner Dashboard and asking them to investigate.
By the way, how long ago was the review submitted?
This actually lines up with a big change Shopify rolled out on July 6, 2026 - literally one day before your customer’s review. They announced “Strengthening trust in App Store reviews” on the developer changelog, which expanded how they detect “untrusted” reviews.
What’s happening isn’t a bug - Shopify’s system is shadow-filtering the review. The customer can see it when logged in, but it’s hidden from everyone else. A lot of app developers on the Shopify Dev forums have been reporting the same thing since early July.
When you contact support again, don’t just ask “why isn’t my review showing.” Reference the specific policy change and ask them to manually verify that the flagged review is from a legitimate, paying merchant. That framing gets you past the generic runaround answers much faster.
Hope it helps!

Asking customers to leave a review again is a very sensitive issue, and it’s not something any support team wants to do.
It can frustrate customers, and in many cases, we don’t even have a good reason to reach out to them again just to ask for another review.
I believe this is something Shopify should seriously reconsider as part of its review policy.
Reporting missing reviews to Shopify Support is an extremely manual process. It’s simply not practical for apps with more than 1,000 reviews, as there’s no way to verify every single missing review one by one.
Nearly a month since submission (7/7 to now) rules out normal moderation delay - Shopify’s review verification typically resolves within days, not weeks. Since general Partner support has been unhelpful, here’s a more targeted path:
Ask specifically for the review’s moderation status, not just “why isn’t it showing.” Support teams often give generic answers to generic questions. Instead of “why is this review hidden,” ask directly: “Is this specific review (submitted 7/7/2026, from [customer email/order if you have it]) currently flagged, under manual review, or rejected - and if rejected, what specific policy did it violate?” A specific status question is harder to deflect with a generic answer than an open-ended “please look into this.”
Check if the review might be tied to a suspected fake/incentivized review flag. Shopify’s system sometimes silently suppresses reviews it suspects are incentivized (asked for, traded for a discount, etc.) even if the review is completely genuine - this happens more than people realize and rarely gets communicated clearly. If you ever asked this customer for a review (even casually, in a support conversation), that could be the actual trigger, even unintentionally.
Escalate via a different channel if Partner support keeps circling. If you haven’t tried this already: Shopify’s X/Twitter support account (@ShopifySupport) sometimes gets faster escalation on stuck app-review cases than the Partner Dashboard ticket queue, since it becomes public-facing. Worth trying if you have one clean case with a clear timeline like this one.
Document everything now, since if this happens again with future reviews, having a clear paper trail (dates, ticket numbers, exact support responses) makes escalation faster next time - a single unresolved case is harder to act on than a documented pattern.
Shopify’s review moderation system may have temporarily hidden the review while it verifies its authenticity. This can happen if a review is flagged for additional checks, even if it was submitted successfully.
A few things you can check:
Make sure the review was left by a legitimate merchant who has the app installed.
Allow a little time in case the review is still being processed.
Check whether the overall review count on your app listing has changed or if only the specific review is missing.
If the review still isn’t visible after some time, I’d recommend reaching out to Shopify Partner Support. They can confirm whether the review was moderated, is still under review, or if there’s another issue affecting its visibility.
If other developers have experienced the same behavior recently, it would be useful to hear whether this is part of a broader review moderation change or an isolated case.
If the review is published, it will take approximately 24 hours for it to appear on the Shopify App Store. However, please check your email from Shopify. If you received an email similar to the image below, it means that the review will not be displayed until it meets the Shopify App Store’s requirements.
