Looking for real merchant feedback
I’m building SmartCollectionsPlus, a tool designed to push Shopify’s automated collections far beyond their current limits. The goal is to allow merchants to create much more granular, reliable, and metadata-aware rules without falling back to manual collections.
Before locking the first release, I want to gather concrete, real-world needs from merchants and partners.
What I’m looking for
Share specific situations where Shopify’s native automated collections fall short:

Cases where metafields/metaobjects should be filterable but aren’t

Situations where you need AND/OR nesting or more complex logic

High-volume setups where the current system becomes unreliable

Any workflow that forces you to switch to manual collections

Your examples will directly shape the feature scope and prioritization of the first version.
The more real and detailed the use case, the better I can design something that actually solves the problem.
