Built a product importer and external-link button. Would love your honest feedback

Hi Everyone,

We’ve been building on Shopify for a while now, with 14+ apps in the App store so far. Every one of them came out of a problem we kept watching merchants struggle with, so we wanted to put two of our apps in front of this community. Honestly it’s half “here’s something that moght help you” and half “tell us what we got wrong” before our next round of updates. They do very different things, but they tend to attract the same kind of store owners, people building out a catalog or earning holding their own inventory.

  1. Robo Product Importer: If you’re populating a store and don’t want to copy-paste product data by hand, Robo pulls a listing’s title, description, images, price and tags from a source product (paste the link, or use our chrome extension) and creates it in your admin. You get to review everything before it imports. One limitation I’ll state up front so nobody’s surprised: It doesn’t import variants yet, so it’s best for single-variat products.
  2. Outlink External Link Button: For affiliate or curated stores, this replaces the “Add to Cart” button with a custom one, that sends shoppers to an external or affiliate page. You can keep both buttons, set links at the variant level, bulk edit, show or affiliate page. You can keep both buttons, set links click through Google Analytics. It works with the usual networks.

If you run an affiliate, dropshipping, or curated store, what makes you uninstall an app like this in the first week? And for importing specifically, is variant support a dealbreaker for you? The blunter the feedback, the more useful it is.

Happy to answer anything in the thread.
