Bulk deletion of 10000 plus archived products

Hi all,

i have found myself in a bit of a pickle. I need to delete roughly 10000 to 14000 items that are archived in my store. How is the easiest way to go about this.

I’m not wanting to delete everything just the archived items.

Is it possible for you to tell me how it’s done, i will never learn if someone else does it for me…

Hi @Brad350 ,

Go to Products tab.

Set Status filter to show only archived items.

Select all items on the page (Select all 50+ items will appear) click on it

Once you filter items and select all of them, all furhter actions will affect all selected items.

Under actions menu (above products list) you will find button “More actions” once expanded, delete products action will appear, once clicked your items removal process will begin, keep in mind that deleting 10-14k items on shopify will take few hours.

Please be carefull with products removal process, you can create a backup (catalog export) but images can’t be restored, because images of removed products are getting removed from shopify as well.

It’s not for 50.

When you click “Select all 50+” all items which meets filtering criteria will be selected and all the further actions you do will affect all the items which meets filtering criteria.

When I try that method of 50+ Delete All the popup shows up and then says the process will run, but nothing has been deleted, I let it sit since yesterday afternoon and it has been almost 24hrs. This is ridiculous that in 2022 with a platform like this that you can’t easily delete products.

It would appear that this has been the situation since 2020. Exact same experience for us when product count is 10 000+.

Deleting products in Shopify is a real pain. You can only delete page by page, and it will take forever.

I have built an app which solves this problem. You can perform the following actions and also combine them together.

  • Delete all products.

  • Delete products by vendor(s).

  • Delete out-of-stock products.

  • Delete product by status.
