Bulk load of images for different variations

Hi. I need to know if I can bulk upload different images for different product variations.

Here’s what I have tried, but it doesn’t work.

  1. I uploaded the 12 images that cover all variations into my Shopify Content > Files areas

  2. Then clicked the link icon for each image and pasted the url into a blank Excel

  3. I pasted the URL of the appropriate image to the specific rows on my Product upload csv file in the “Image Scr” field. Both the Image Position and Image Alt Text fields are all blank

  4. Finally, I uploaded the product csv

I was hoping that the upload would identify and assign each image specifically for that variation so that when a customer selects their variation options on the website, the image carousel would auto scroll to the correct associated image.

When I do the above 4 steps, instead I get all 12 images loaded but not associates to each variation.
