I need help troubleshooting the bundles I have created using Shopify bundles app.
The problem
inventory of my bundle should be out of stock due to out of stock variant inventory
Product setup
I have one product in my store called “Showcase 100+ Deck Box” with 10 color variants.
bundle set up
And I have created one bundle “all color bundle” that includes two of each color
inventory status
my inventory of most of my color variants is zero or even negative due to pre-orders.
Therefore, the bundle should be out of stock. However, it still says I have two available, which is incorrect based on variant inventory.
I just did a fresh install of the app and just made new bundles. That did not work, the problem is still persisting.
any advice would be greatly appreciated. Is this a Shopify bug? Or something I’m doing wrong?
Hi @ShowcaseDeckBox,
From what you’ve described, it sounds like the bundle inventory isn’t recalculating correctly when one or more component variants are out of stock or have negative inventory.
If reinstalling and recreating the bundles didn’t help, it may be worth reaching out to Shopify Support to confirm whether this is expected behavior or a bug with the Shopify Bundles app.
If you continue running into limitations, you could also look at third-party bundle apps that offer more advanced inventory syncing. For example, some merchants use Profit Bundles because it updates bundle availability based on the inventory of the component products and variants.
Hopefully that helps.
To troubleshoot this issue with the Shopify bundles app, let’s break down the setup and inventory tracking. Since you’ve already reinstalled the app and recreated the bundles without resolving the issue, it’s possible that the problem lies in how the bundle’s inventory is being calculated based on the variant inventory.
First, ensure that the inventory tracking is set up correctly for each variant of the “Showcase 100+ Deck Box” product. Since you’re using a bundle that includes two of each color variant, the bundle’s inventory should be based on the variant with the lowest available quantity.
Check the bundle settings to see if there’s an option to set the inventory tracking to consider the variant inventory levels. Sometimes, the bundle app might not automatically update the inventory status based on the variants’ inventory levels.
If the issue persists, it might be worth reaching out to Shopify support directly to see if this is a known bug or if there’s a specific setting that needs to be adjusted. They can provide more insight into how the bundles app calculates inventory and help resolve the discrepancy.
Additionally, you might want to explore using an inventory management app that can provide more granular control over bundle inventory tracking. However, before exploring third-party apps, it’s essential to rule out any configuration issues with the Shopify bundles app itself.
Have you tried contacting Shopify support about this issue, or would you like some guidance on how to reach out to them for further assistance?
