Button on account page to show customers there gift card

Hi, i want to add a button on my account section to show customers their gift card page. Please help. Thank you in advance.

  • Which theme is this?
  • When they click the button what happens? What is gift card page?

This is dawn theme. When they click the button if they have gift card available then it shows up and if they don’t have gift card then it should show sorry you don’t have any gift cards available. The button should be like shown in the screenshot. Thanks.

Creating the link is not an issue. But how are you going to create a gift card for every customer? I don’t get that part.

Is it a gift card he received or is it a gift card he purchased for others?

We will not create gift card for every customer. Only the customers who have returned or exchanged there orders will get gift cards. So, I want to add a section or a button in the account page where the customers gift cards are shown. I hope you’ll understand now what I’m trying to say.

  • Now I understood. In Shopify, you cannot do this to the best of my understanding. When you make a gift card the customers receive a code. There is no link to that anymore.
  • I just tested creating a gift card and it seems so.

I tried accessing a gift card I made with the same link it is still opening.

@Lucid_Polygon is it possible or not? if it is possible please help. Is it possible to show customer there gift card balance in the account page?

  • Sorry, I had looked through it again.
    • Though we are able to link a gift card to a customer, I don’t think that card is exclusive to that customer.
    • I am not sure you can do what we are looking for.
  • Maybe someone else in the forum could look at it and make better advise.

Hi @Lucid_Polygon ,

We are sending that gift card to a specific person, so it would be exclusive to them only, now it’s on them if they share that gift card with someone the amount will be deducted from there gift card itself. All we need to do is to link that gift card link to that customer’s account. The gift card link that the customer will receive will remain the same. So we need a button which when clicked redirects customer to there gift card page. Hope you’ll understand what i mean and maybe find a solution. Thanks.
