Buy Button Cart and Shopify Store Cart Integration (one cart linked to both)?

I have a LMS that I want to add buy buttons to, and sell my courses through my shopify store so I can have more control over the cart and purchasing experience.

The problem is that the buy buttons work great on the LMS–it fills up a cart nicely. But in the checkout, if the customer clicks the link to go to my shopify store, it creates a new cart rather than adding to the existing cart. It is really confusing to customers.

Is there a setting I am missing so my buy button cart and my storefront cart are linked?

I just got off a chat. Sounds like this isn’t possible right now, but they added it to the list. The more people that request it, the more chance of getting it done. If it sounds like a good idea, please let shopify know.
