Buy X & Buy Y Discount

I want to create an automatic discount but am unable to find a solution. I want to give a discount to customers who add both X and Y to their cart and then give them a discount on the total value.

e.g. Product X is for $47 and Product Y is for $34. I want after discount value to be $19 when 1 quantity of both products X and Y are added to the cart.

If I am using Buy X get Y then I am unable to give this type of discount

Surprisingly shopify does not provide this solution out of the box.

  1. Use a Discount App that can handle complex discount rules
  2. Move to Shopify plus and use the custom script
  3. Set up a discount code and manually inform customers of the offer

I think that a Buy X Get Y promotion might not be the best fit for your needs. It sounds like you’re looking to create a discounted bundle instead.

If you’re looking for a way to set a combined fixed-price discount when 2 specific products are in the cart, you can try our app, Regios Automatic Discounts (4.9 stars, Built for Shopify).

Here’s a screenshot of how you could set your discount up:

You’ll need to chain:

  • A “Check if specific products are in the cart” condition that checks for Product X
  • A “Check if specific products are in the cart” condition that checks for Product Y
  • A “Fixed price” discount, with the value set to $19 (or whichever currency you’re using)

It sounds like you want to automatically apply a discount to the total cart value when a customer adds both required products. Based on your example, we’ve already helped some customers with a similar need using our custom application. You can specify which products should trigger the discount, and if the cart includes other items, the discount will only apply to the selected products. If you need any other custom features, we can provide those as well.
