Hi, I’ve posted before concerning duties and tariffs to the US and am getting closer to a resolve, but…
We ship from the EU to the USA by FedEx via a 3rd party company. Shopify has the ability to add duties/tariffs but I can’t get the right calculation. My product falls under one of 2 HS codes and are all coded correctly and I already know that they will have a combined duty/tariff of either 15 or 20% based on these HS codes.
I don’t want to add another app but would just prefer to use Shopify’s duties feature under taxes and duties. I can’t seem to get anything by the US’s 15% tariff to register. It’s not doing a calculation for the 5% tariff on one of the HS codes (the other HS code carries no duty).
My programmer is at a loss and Shopify isn’t helping much.
For the sake of transparency, I also prefer to have a shipping line with a separate duties line so customers know exactly what’s going on.
To add, my shipping isn’t arranged through Shopify but is arranged separately, later after the sale.
Any suggestions?
