Can Afterpay be accepted via the Shopify POS app?

Welcome to the Shopify Community!

The Shopify POS system is set up to integrate with supported gateways. Through Shopify Payments, unfortunately, there is no way to include alternative gateways like ZipMoney or Afterpay at this time.

Can you please clarify why this afterpay payment gateway is falsely advertised in the app to work and why and when shopify is planning to actually do something to solve this problem - bit stupid if we still have to use vend your competitor we’re trying to leave for such a simple task

Without emailing the customer their cart or using a 3rd party terminal? Where’s the efficiency in that for POINT of SALE

I can certainly appreciate how integrating more gateways with the Shopify POS would be helpful and I will happily submit this feedback to our development team for their consideration.

I have clients shifted over to using Shopify POS but the lack of this feature is extremely poor. I may as well recommend clients to use Square POS as it seems to integrate with Afterpay.

Afterpay is a major third-party payment option and needs to be added. Having a customer refused for this payment option is saying no to money for the seller.

Are there any updates with this? This is a massive gap in payment processing for Shopify POS and is leading me to find an alternate solution for our platform.

@Shopify could you please update us on this. We are about to change to square because it’s been 5 years and still nothing. Can you please confirm if we can expect afterpay on Shopify POS within the next month or if we should go to square instead?
