I see what you mean. Most profit tracking apps overlook important things like costs of goods sold, ad spends, marketplace fees, or refunds, which creates inaccurate profit and loss reports.
Apps like BeProfit, TrueProfit, or SimplyCost integrate sales channels, marketing spend (including Facebook), and expenses into one dashboard for real-time, accurate profit insights. This helps you optimize campaigns, manage cash flow, and avoid guesswork.
Totally understand the struggle — getting an accurate Profit & Loss view with proper integration for all your marketing channels can be tricky.
Shopify’s built-in reports offer some basic insights, but they’re pretty limited when it comes to tracking costs, ad spends, and true profitability, especially if you’re using multiple marketing platforms.
You might want to check out Mipler reports. Their app does a great job consolidating data from Shopify, lets you input COGS, and can pull in costs from sources like Facebook Ads, Google, etc., giving you much more accurate daily P&L dashboards. Plus, it’s customizable—so you can fine-tune it to your needs.
Hope this helps! If you have any questions about setup or integrating your channels, just let me know.
Hey @Manny_La! What you’re describing is exactly the gap many store owners face — basic profit reports inside Shopify or standard profit apps often don’t factor in all real costs, and they usually don’t pull in advertising costs properly across channels like Facebook, Google, TikTok, etc.
If you need day-to-day accurate profit and loss reporting that:
integrates multiple marketing channels (Facebook Ads, Google Ads, TikTok, etc.) includes true Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accounts for returns, fees, and other expenses ties everything back to orders and product profitability
then you need a profit analytics tool that is built for that level of detail.
• consolidated P&L reporting with actual ad spends from all major channels
• daily profit tracking that matches marketing expenses to revenue
• proper handling of COGS and per-product profitability
• real understanding of which products & channels are truly profitable
This makes it much easier to monitor your store’s actual profit every day, not just gross revenue or Shopify’s simple “profit” fields.
If accurate profit & loss across all costs is your priority, GoProfit (or a similar dedicated profit analytics tool) is worth trying — it solves exactly the issues you mentioned.
@Manny_La The accuracy issue usually comes down to two things.
First is ad spend sync. Does the app pull your TOTAL Google and Meta spend, or only the spend it can attribute to specific orders via UTMs? Some tools only count matched spend, which massively understates your real ad costs and inflates your reported profit. You want total spend.
Second is COGS handling. Does the app use a static cost field that breaks when costs change, or does it timestamp costs per order? If you changed suppliers in June and the app uses today’s cost for January orders, your P&L is wrong.
Get those two things right and any decent profit app will give you numbers you can actually trust.
@KangJinKim has a point. The total spend vs attributed spend thing is what trips up most of these apps and why the P&L numbers always feel off.
I’ve been testing ClearProfit for this exact reason. It pulls total ad spend from Meta, TikTok, Google, and Snapchat (syncs three times a day), so you’re seeing real cost against real revenue, not just the orders it can match through UTMs. Also shows profit per product down to the variant level which helped me catch a couple SKUs that looked great on revenue but were actually negative after ad costs.
