Topic summary

Compatibility of Brother QL-800 and TSC TE244 with Shopify shipping-label printing.

  • Shopify staff points to the official list of supported label printers; Brother QL-1110NWB is supported, while Brother QL-800 and TSC TE244 are not on the list.
  • Interim workaround: use a standard desktop printer to print labels while sourcing a compatible thermal printer.

Key technical guideline:

  • Ensure the printer supports 4 × 6 inch (100 × 150 mm / A6) labels, the common standard for shipping labels and most thermal workflows.

Resources shared:

  • Link to Shopify’s supported printer list.
  • Community link to a vendor page for thermal printers (Munbyn) as an example of options.

Outcome/status:

  • Original poster acknowledged the guidance and is focusing on streamlining workflow.
  • No confirmation that the two queried models will work; recommendation is to choose a model from the supported list or any printer that reliably handles 4 × 6 labels. The thread appears effectively resolved with guidance rather than a definitive yes/no for those models.

Hi,

Can someone confirm if Brother QL800 and TSC Te 244 thermal printers work with Shopify ? I need a printer to pint ship

Thank you

Hi, @AdityaK .

Thank you for posting this question!

We do have a list of Shopify-supported shipping label printers and the Brother QL-1110NWB is listed as one of our supported printers. However, the Brother QL-800 and TSC TE244 aren’t listed as a Shopify-supported label printer. With that said, should you need a way to print labels while sourcing for a new label printer, then you can also consider using a standard desktop printer for the time being.

I noticed that you’re a new member of our Shopify Community and I’d love to hear more about your business. What kinds of products are you selling? Do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store?

Hi @AdityaK ,

The thumb rule is to check whether the printer supports the paper size (4 x 6 inches / 100 x 150 mm / A6). This is the size for thermal label printers.

Thanks Mirdas. This is very helpful

Hi Elias,

Yes we are new! as of now the focus is to streamline the workflow. Thank you once again for your suggestion. This is very helpful.

The key guideline is to ensure that your printer supports the paper size of 4 x 6 inches (100 x 150 mm / A6), which is the standard size for thermal label printers. This is crucial for seamless label printing, as thermal label printers are typically designed to work with these dimensions. For more details check out https://munbyn.com/collections/all-printers
