Wanted to ask, whether it’s possible to collect/activate payments (e.g. with Shopify Payments or other payment gates) without having a legal business registered.
I’m planning on starting a side-hustle. Before manufacturing any products and make sure the business is feasible 1st.

It is indeed possible to have an account and start selling, even if you don’t have your business legally registered.
Before going ahead, I would still recommend you check requirements with your local tax experts etc. just to make sure you’re complying with everything there, but as far as Shopify goes, - it’s as easy as going to this link here to learn more and set up your store.
Just note for Shopify Payments, you must be based in a region where it’s supported, and I have a list of other requirements for you here.
