Can I auto-tag customers entering a specific segment?

I want to make a flow that automatically adds a tag to customers entering a specific shopify segment. Is there a way to do it?

Not yet, but better integration between Flow and Segmentation is in our roadmap. I don’t know exact timing yet.

Hey @paul_n

Integrating segments and email automations in workflows is also in the roadmap?

It’d be a nice addition to segmentation

There is already email integration, so yes once we have segmentation in Flow, you would be able to work with segments + email

Hi,

Why this is an accepted solution? It has yet not been solved, and it has been more than a year since it was written…

No solutions yet, as anything shopify does. Shame of company, and we are paying for this.

Flow now provides triggers when Customer joins segment that can be used with actions such as Add customer tags to achieve the initial goal.

@Theodore_1 my understanding is that you are looking for a way to avoid double campaigns send to the same customer. If so, you can use filter from last purchase date eg. 1 week. So you will always have fresh audience. And make sure you send campaign to this audience once per week.

You’re right that Shopify Flow now supports tagging when a customer enters a segment - that works well for simple, one-time triggers.

Where it starts to fall down is when you need ongoing or more complex logic (e.g. keeping tags in sync as customers move in and out of conditions, removing tags automatically, or managing multiple rules without maintaining lots of flows).

We built AutoTag Pro to handle that continuous rule-based tagging layer on top of Shopify’s native tools.

Not saying it replaces Flow - just complements it when tagging needs get more advanced.
