Hi - I want to sell a simple ticket to a food tasting event but I have a capped inventory (say 25 tickets). I want this to be a digital product so that it can be fulfilled automatically but I want to be able to track the number of tickets sold without tying it to a specific physical store. We have 3 different retail locations. It seems that I’m not allowed to track inventory without selecting a physical location. Has anyone run into this? I don’t want another add on app to solve the problem.

Are you using the Digital Downloads app?
A workaround in this case would be to create a new location if you want to track the inventory separately from your existing retail locations. The “location” still needs an address, but you can title it something like “Online Store” or “Digital Downloads” to differentiate it for your own tracking/analytics purposes.
I’m happy to submit feedback about this to our developers. Currently, the Digital Downloads app allows you to limit the number of times a customer downloads a product, but not how many times it is purchased.
