Can I display specific banners to selected customers on Shopify?

Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well. We are planning to do sale campaign on our website. But we are planning this campaign for only selected customers. Is it possible to show a special banner for those selected people with Shopify backend? And how?

Hi @Muttapa ,

Do the customers in question have a specific tag assigned to them? If yes then different banners can be shown depending on this tag and whether the customer is logged in or not. However it is fairly involved and would require custom coding for this to be done.

Hey @Muttapa , I realize this question was from a while ago. However, we have just released a product that does exactly what you’re looking for. You can display different banners to different customer groups based a number rules you set (UTM would be the best suited for your question above).

You can display different banners based on:

  1. UTM parameters (ie. Banners change based on the UTM parameters in the URL).
  2. Date Range (great for time based promotions)
  3. Geo Location (Only show to customers from specific locations)
  4. Weather (Only show block if the weather is “X” for the customer)
  5. Many more to come

All of these rules can be combined with each other too. For example you may want to display a promotion to customers from Denver, Colorado between a certain data range OR show a promotion to visitors from Seattle, Washington, when the rain is forecasted in the next 7 days.
