Can I generate a draft order during the checkout process?

I would like to know if its possible to create a draft order when someone uses the checkout.

Example. We have custom products and would like the customer to order the product via the normal checkout process but instead of creating a unfulfilled order it creates a draft order for us to review and quote. Is this possible with shopify or shopify plus?

Hi @wq_IntDev ,

Would you be open to let customer create an abandoned checkout? as in they initiate checkout, fill in addresses, but don’t make payment, this will create an abandoned checkout which you can access in your Shopify admin.

Then you can install the Draft Order Helper app (https://apps.shopify.com/draft-helper) ( I am the developer of this app)

After installation, go to the abandoned checkout created by your customer, then click “More actions” > “Create draft order”.

This way a draft order will be created from the checkout, and you can review and quote it.
