Howdy, does anyone know if I can get my Shopify billing in euro instead of USD?
Basically I was told from tax revenue in Ireland that my invoices from Shopify are useless because they are in USD and not euro but yet Shopify charges Irish VAT on these invoices also. Revenue told me that I shouldn’t be charged VAT if my billing is in USD and now I can’t claim back the VAT towards my taxes.
Does anyone know a way around this?

Sophia here from Shopify. Being in Canada myself, I appreciate the desire to be billed in your local currency.
Since Shopify provides software to businesses around the world, all bills are issued in US dollars as it is a widely accepted currency. There isn’t currently an option to change this, though I can absolutely submit a request on your behalf to our Billing team in case that changes in the future.
The way that taxes are handled is nuanced and specific to your business. Therefore, I am unable to provide tax advice. It is best to consult with a tax professional in your area.
