Can I get some feedback on my store.. and How to remove Powered by shopify in footer

Hi there, I have put together a store, If I could get some reviews that would be cool. As well as I am having trouble removing the Powered by Shopify in the footer. I have tried to find it in the code not working…

My store is whitesmiledrop.com

Hi there!

It’s great to hear that you’ve launched your store. As for the “Powered by Shopify” text in the footer, let’s try to sort that out:

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin and navigate to Online Store > Themes.
  2. Find the theme you’re using, click the button and then Edit languages.
  3. In the Filter items box, type “powered”.
  4. Look for the “Powered by Shopify” box that appears.
  5. Here, you can either enter a single space to remove it completely or customize it to your liking.
  6. Once you’ve made your changes, don’t forget to hit Save.

Regarding your store’s review, I did notice the announcement bar. Aesthetic adjustments like changing the background or text color for better readability can really enhance the overall user experience. It’s all about making shopping as enjoyable as possible for your visitors.

Best of luck with your store! If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out.

Hey, @jared312 .

Thank you for posting this question!

I’m delighted to see that you were able to get some feedback from the Shopify Community. I’ve taken a look at your store (whitesmiledrop.com) and I think you’re off to a get start. It’s awesome to see that you have a chat widget for interacting with your customers. However, as suggested by @Lee-Strong-SEO , the colours on the announcement bar can be improved. There could also be some opportunities to showcase some products on the homepage using some of the other sections offered by your theme, such as the Featured product, Featured collection, or Image with text overlay sections. The Image with text overlay is a great way to talk about your brand or company vision.

You can remove the Powered by Shopify message from the footer using the Language editor. Simply use the search function to find the correct field, or scroll through the fields under the General tab of the Language editor.

That being said, do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store?

Hi Jered312,

This is Amee from Gojiberry - Shopify Survey & Feedback App.

I took a look at your store and have a few suggestions that will help increase the conversion rate:

  1. Testimonials. Showcasing a few testimonials on your home page – whether from online customers or family/friends, helps promote more consumer trust and confidence.
  2. Add more detailed pictures. Other than the hero image, add more photos of the product (side, packaging, what’s included, before/after picture of usage). Currently having 1 image doesn’t seem very convincing to consumers. I would suggest hiring a EC photographer to make sure your image stays very sharp and clean.
  3. Adding products to your landing page. I would suggest featuring best sellers or all your current product lineup on the landing page as well, and add call to action buttons
  4. Adding a blog. Adding up-to-date blogs/commentary on oral health & whitening tips helps draw the right audience to your store. It also helps with SEO and quality of traffic.
  5. Ask your customers! (Most effective for increasing conversion) Ask where your converting customers are coming from. You can easily do so with a post-purchase survey app, and reward your customers with coupons/points to keep them coming back again. Once you find your strongest marketing channel, focus more effort and money on that.

Hope this helps!

Hi @jared312

I’m Garcia, a CRO expert from PageFly - Advanced Page Builder app.

Congratulations on your new store! I’ve got a chance to take a look at your store and it looks amazing! Still, there’s some room for improvement so here I provide you with several suggestions to kick it up a notch:

1. For the Homepage

When your customers go to your website, the first 5-second impressions are the most important. Therefore, your Homepage should be attention-grabbing right off the bat. You can accomplish this by:

  • Optimizing your header: Consider reducing the height of your header to be about 1/2 of how it is now. Additionally, you should also include other pages on your navigation bar like Collections page, About page,… so that your customers know more about your brand and what you offer.

  • Optimizing your hero banner: The hero banner takes up 70% of what your customers see during first seconds. Ideally, you should make your hero banner go full width of the page and make it feature your premier product (let’s say a person smiling while holding your brand’s teeth whitener in your case).

This is a good example after you’ve optimized:

  • Improving your CTA (Call-To-Action) buttons: Consider adding a CTA button onto your hero banner and make it dynamic by giving it a color that stands out and giving it an animation on hover. Additionally, you should add CTA buttons wherever applicable (like Featured Products section).
  • Adding a section about your brand: Adding a section that tells the story of your brand will help your customers get a grasp of who you are.
  • Adding a section that features your best-selling products: Customers know who you are, now they need to know what you sell. Give them the best you can offer. You can refer to example template here to get an idea:

  • Adding a testimonial section: Don’t let your customers’ great reviews go unnoticed; add a section that highlights the reviews you’ve received to build trust for your brand.

2. For the Product page

  • Add in more images for each product so that customers get a full picture of that product. Ideally, you should have at least 4 secondary images.
  • Your product’s color variants should be displayed as color swatches instead of text boxes. This is to avoid confusion when your customers want to know specific colors of your product.

  • Provide your product’s description in a bulleted list format so that your customers can take in information more easily.

You can have a look at one of our example templates to get a clue of how a product page should be:

3. Take advantage of seasonal holidays

Don’t miss out on upcoming seasonal holidays like BFCM and Christmas as these are the times when customers’ needs are at its highest. Make full use of these festive periods by highlighting your sales campaigns and discount offers.

Here’s what you can do:

  • Add a section where all of your sale-off campaigns are featured: Make sure every active campaign is featured so that customers don’t miss out on any deal, and make sure your sale banners are holiday-themed, too.
  • Include a countdown timer: This is to target customers’ FOMO, having them feel the urge to make a purchase in a limited timeframe and to not miss out on your holiday offers. Here’s another example template of ours that can accomplish this

As for your concern on removing “Powered by Shopify” on the footer, please go to your Shopify Dashboard > Online store > Themes > Locate 3-dot button next to Customize button (of the theme you’re using) > Type “powered” on filter bar > Remove any “powered by Shopify” field you wish > Click “Save”.

Hopefully I have provided you with helpful suggestions to really improve your storefront, as well as to know how to solve your footer problem. If you have any further questions, feel free to let me know in the reply section.

Wishing you the best of luck on your ecommerce journey!

Cheers,
