Can I have 2 Product templates: 1. with gallery image thumbnail images and 2. template without?

Hi Shopify,

I have been doing a ton of research on this topic but have not found answers. Hope someone can help. I purchased the Empire theme in April for my online store.

Simple version of my question:

Can I have 1 product template that displays the “product image thumbnail gallery” UNDERNEATH the large product image? (this is for ONE product I sell that has several product images)

AND

Product page template no.2 WITHOUT displaying the “product image thumbnail gallery” UNDERNEATH the large product image and INSTEAD use the variant image thumbnails? (This is for a product with MANY variants.)

A support person from the theme gave me a code to add to my custom CSS

( .gallery-navigation–scroller { display: none !important;}

and that got rid of the “product image thumbnail gallery” UNDERNEATH the large product image on ALL product pages. This works great on pages like this: https://inspireamind.com/collections/gepard/products/gepard-woolia-100-organic-wool , but on page one product, I want the additional product images to show underneath the main product image like this: https://loopknitting.com/en-us/collections/the-yarniad/products/the-yarniad-itineris

I am happy to pay someone to help with this, so if someone can recommend a shopify developer, please let me know.

Yes, we can create different product templates and assign the product accordingly.

Hi @IAM-test There are 2 options through which you can accomplish this:

  1. Easiest way: You can create 2 different product template with the 2 different condition you have mentioned and then you can assign the respective template to the respective product.
  2. Code way: We can do it with code as well, we need to right the code in your theme so that it will fulfill your needs.

You can choose whichever option you may like.
