Can I have separate images for desktop & mobile?

Topic summary

A user is struggling with logo and text positioning across desktop and mobile views. When configured for desktop, the layout breaks on mobile—either the text doesn’t resize properly or becomes too small when incorporated into the logo image.

Key Issue:

  • Text box and logo don’t scale proportionally between devices
  • Seeking either: responsive text boxes that adapt per layout, or separate logo/text combinations for desktop vs. mobile

Community Response:

  • Multiple users offered CSS-based solutions and requested the store URL for inspection
  • Provided search links for existing mobile/desktop image tutorials
  • Noted this is a common theme-dependent issue

Resolution:
The original poster found a solution independently before sharing their unpublished store details, though the specific fix wasn’t disclosed.

I have a logo & I tried to put a box with type above it. I configured it nicely for desktop but when I switch to phone or “full width” the logo changes size but the type doesn’t it’s all in the wrong place & configured horribly.

So I figured, okay I’ll make the type part of the logo image so that it stays where I want it in relation to the logo but, (a proper “lock-up”) but of course now, when I switch to the phone version, the text is tiny.

Is it possible to have a text box in there that does different things in different layouts?

Or, can I do a separate “logo & type” combo for desktop & for phone?

Of course it’s possible and done to death as it varies by theme, and of course by what you’ve specifically done but have not provided anything inspectable for others.

@Snowdog63 can you please share your website link? desktop and mobile views may need different css adjustments to make it look good, can we have a chat?

I can certainly provide more information but, as I’m at the very beginning of the process, I haven’t published anything yet so there’s nothing to see. I kinda thought there was no point in publishing some half-assed, badly configured shop with nothing in it & wanted to get the basics right first. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Let me see if I can get some screenshots.

Hi @Snowdog63

Ok dear, please share your store URL and collaborator code with me so I can check and provide you with the proper solution.

Thanks for all the replies. I’ve found a solution now but there will be a billion more questions, I’m sure.
