I have a site with many drop-down menus for custom items and I am concerned that Shopify does not allow more than two. I would hate to have to use an entirely different platform - Any idea work arounds for sites that have lots of drop down options needed for ordering

If you are not doing inventory on those, you can add an dropdown on those products by using line items. You can use the tutorial below to add those dropdowns
