Hello, my website is in english and would like to have a french version to it. Is there any way I can manually translate it or do we have to use third party apps?

You can manually translate but you need to do it trough an app ( for store content, the theme can be translated from admin by editing it, it probably already has a French locale file)
That app mentioned in the above topic is free.
