Does Shopify offer alternatives to coupons/discount codes? Discounting products is hurting my margins just as much as it increases revenue. Is there such thing as Rebates in Shopify?
Shopify offers only discount codes and gift cards, if both are not fulfilling your requirements then you can go with any third-party apps there are many apps that offer discounts based on products, categories or even customer based.
If you can explain here what exactly your requirement is then I can help you find apps as well, I have worked on many discount apps.

As a rebate feature is not currently available, I recommend checking out the Shopify App Store. Here I was able to locate a few rebate and loyalty reward apps that may work for your shops needs:

I am also looking for an app that does rebates. I’d like our shop to look similar to Menards with their rebates (see below), but I don’t see anything in the App Store that offers this feature.
Technically this could be built in shopify-flow to edit the order, and using shopify-forms for customers to fill in the claim.
Or another automation app like mechanic to script a custom process to either edit the order or issue store credit , gift card, or a custom discount.

Shopify has no native support for rebates but you can simulate this with cashback/store credit apps like Rise.ai or Fondue. They let you reward after purchase instead of discounting upfront, which helps you keep your margins while still incentivizing customers to finish purchases and come back later.
@Dr-Fondue Fundamentally, a rebate is similar to cashback with the exception that rebates are usually manual in nature. I assume you’d not want to manually go through 100’s of rebate requests every day?
The easiest way to do something like this would be to leverage Shopify store credit, you can set up exactly how much % / $ to give as store credit to the customer for the purchase - so they can claim against their next order.
For best results, set it so that it expires in X days from credit. Really gives a hard nudge to people to actually go and use the credit on an order.

Yes,you can offer rebates on Shopify, but not the same way you apply traditional discounts at checkout. Shopify doesn’t have a built-in automated rebate system like you might see from big brands Example- buy now, claim rebate later etc.
However, there are a few alternatives you can try:
- Give cashback or store credit after purchase
- Offer free gifts instead of discounts
- Manually provide partial refunds once customers meet conditions
- Use loyalty or rewards apps to give “earned” value instead of upfront price cuts
