Can I offer shipping cost savings as an incentive to customers?

I’m quite new to shopify.

I just fulfilled an order, the item shipped cost $12, the customer shipping cost was $22 and i was charged $12. Can I pass this $10 difference on to the customer as a saving and an incentive to buy from us

If you fulfill an order and see that the customer has paid significantly more for shipping compared to how much it cost you to ship it to them, you could issue them a partial refund for their order to help cover the difference in price. This’ll be a nice way of earning your customer’s trust and it will hopefully encourage them to order from you again.

Moving forward, it’s better to try and align your shipping rates along with the actual cost of shipping, as overly expensive shipping fees are likely to discourage potential customers from placing an order. It’s good to do your research and get better estimates on the cost of shipping to customers in different regions; most shipping couriers will have shipping calculators that you can use to get these estimates.
