Hey im wondering if it is possible to permamently delete my account, not deactivate my store but delete my account.
Hey, @jovo_1 ! Welcome to Shopify Community!
Yes, it is possible to delete your account. Since this request involves sensitive information, we’ll need to access your account in order to complete this. While we’re not able to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community at this time, we’d be happy to continue assisting you through live chat, email, or callback. Please visit https://bit.ly/3cJkx8V and log in to your account to create a support request.
After visiting the link and logging in, you’ll be prompted to select the topic of your concern so we can connect you to the right articles and support team. Once you do, you’ll be able to find the options for support below the help docs that are presented to you.
Since this is the next step I’ve marked this reply as the solution for the benefit of others who may discover this topic. Thanks!

I never wanted any association with Shopify. I merely was trying to unsubscribe from your obnoxious emails.
I’m requesting full deletion of all account association with this e-mail address. As a California resident you should have to comply with this request.
As an fyi, I tried to cancel/delete everything myself. But it’s only a circle of clicks.
[email removed]Joshligon We are more than happy to close your accounts and comply with your request, however, please note that creating a support ticket is crucial and necessary in order for us to securely access your information and correctly locate your accounts. Should you wish to proceed, you may go ahead and create a support ticket by following the steps above and our support team will be able to work on closing your accounts sooner.
I tried to complete your request. BUT I dont have a “store”. I dont want
this account. I dont want any association with Shopify. I get emails from
yall and now ive got an account for a store I dont have. I cant speak with
anyone. I cant call anyone. I click through your website, and it is just
an endless circle. Please end it all.
@Joshligon Thanks for the clarification and the update. In that case, I suggest unsubscribing to our emails. You can do this by clicking Unsubscribe at the bottom of any existing Shopify email in your inbox. As for your account, if you signed up to create a store, you can deactivate the account on your end by following the steps on this page. Alternatively, you can still contact our support team for assistance. Instead of logging in and following the steps I previously shared, you can proceed with the following instructions:
-
Visit our support page: https://shopify.link/o71x.
-
Click Can’t log in to your Shopify account.
-
Click I still can’t access my account.
-
Scroll down and click Chat with us under Get support.
If you still have trouble creating a support ticket, you can try performing local troubleshooting methods such as accessing the support page via a different browser or private browsing window and a different device.
How to close my account if my store is inactive?
Hey, [email removed]Ribal_mokdad! Welcome to Shopify Community!
Is your account currently in a frozen state? If so, it means your store and account are essentially closed. You will no longer be charged if the final payment attempt failed. This causes the store to be inactive.
If you have decided to stop selling, you can leave your store as it is. However, if you wish to reactivate your store and continue where you left off, you can simply log into your admin. You will be prompted to pay for the outstanding balance and select a new plan. Once you complete these steps, you can resume working on your store.
Let me know if you have other questions about your account and I’ll be happy to help you further!
I would like to delete my data from your servers (my account including all
details and information)
I would also like to close my account and delete my data in accordance with UK law.
I tried the site, didn’t get on with it, so now wish to remove my data from your system.
I have deactivated my store but there is no way it now allows me to delete everything.
I can’t even access some of the things you have mentioned because I have deactivated my store.
Please sort this asap.
Why can’t you just tell people how to request their personal data be erased? Why does Shopify make such a simple request SO bleep DIFFICULT!!!
Honestly, all we want is for Shopify to delete our personal data for god sake!
Link doesn’t work but you already knew that.
