Can I print shipping labels using DYMO 550?

The DYMO LabelWriter 550 can be used for printing barcode labels on Shopify. However, as there is a difference in size between the labels, this printer is not listed as one of our supported shipping label printers. That being said, if you don’t have a thermal printer for shipping labels at the moment, then a standard desktop printer can be used for this as well.

I’d love to hear more about your business! What kind of products do you sell? Were you using the DYMO LabelWriter 550 for your previous business?

Thanks Elias, this is what I thought. Well, I didn’t do thorough enough research before purchasing this printer. I thought I am saving as the other types of the printers are much more expensive, but since I didn’t use it yet I think I’ll just exchange it for the right one. I will check the links from you, unless you can recommend a printer and right sizes of labels?

I am just starting a matcha tea brand.

I’d be happy to help narrow down some of the options, so you can decide which printer is best suited for you. For example, USB printers can only be used with Windows or Mac; however, they are less expensive. While printers with wireless connectivity are more expensive, they would allow you to work off your mobile devices (eg. iOS and Android). Depending on where you’re located, you may also need to consider the availability of some of these printers.

If you’re only working off a computer and you want something simple, then you can choose one of the following models. The only one that has different sizes for shipping labels is the Zebra model, so be sure to check the description in the link.

If you’d like to be able to print shipping labels wirelessly and be able to work using mobile devices, then you can consider one of the following models. If you happen to be in the US, then you’ll have access to most of these models so you can choose one that’s less costly.

  • Brother QL Label Printer (Model QL-1110NWB) - available in US and Australia.
  • Zebra Label Printer (Model ZD220) - available in US and Canada.
  • Zebra 2 Label Printer (Model ZSB-DP12) - available in US.
  • Zebra 4 Label Printer (Model ZSB-DP14N) - available in US.
