I have my company on another site. I want to accept payments, but I don’t want to process payments myself. I want my web site to redirect here, get monthly payments processed as someone subscribed to my service. Then here would send an email (something) to my web site where I would create/update a subscription record. Does this way I described work with Shopify? Is there a better way? Should I do things differently?

I am not sure if I fully understand your question, however I would to be able to help you achieve what you would like to do here! Are you possibly referring to a Buy Button here? With Buy Buttons, you can add your products to external websites and blogs. This removes the need for the customer to go to a separate page to finalize their order. You can read up some more on Buy Buttons here, and also on how you can create one right over here.
Do you currently have a Shopify store? Can you provide a more detailed example of what you want to do here? Let me know if this is what you’re looking to achieve!
Max, I couldn’t reply to you directly and thank you for your comment. Maybe I’m using the wrong terms. I’ve worked on a web site as a service. When someone buy that subscription (subscribes) to that service, I would redirect that person here to accept the payment (because I don’t want to handle the details of multiple types of currency, etc.). The product is entirely digital. Once subscribed, the person would log into my other web site to receive the digital service/product.
Am I still not clear? Do “Buy Buttons” work with a digital service from another web site?

Linking to external services would be outside our scope of support, however you could look into hiring an expert here or possibly some apps, that being said I am not aware of any apps that achieve this exactly.
Experts can carry out custom jobs like this or may be able to offer some better advice here. Alternatively, if there is an app that you might be interested in, then you can always reach the app developers of the app via the ‘Get Support’ button on the apps page.
