Hi there, can I publish a blog but hide it from my navigation? Do I require a blog app? I want my blogs to be published and crawled for organic SEO but I do not want customers to navigate to them when on my site. Thank you.
Topic summary
Goal: Keep blog posts published for SEO while hiding them from on-site navigation.
Key guidance:
- Remove the Blog link from your navigation menu. Customers won’t see blog pages unless they have the direct URL.
- No blog app is required for this. No theme code edits are needed.
- How-to resources were shared: Shopify’s Menus and Links editor and a YouTube tutorial explaining the steps.
- Optional: Use the MenuQoL app to temporarily hide menu items, which can be useful if you plan to re-enable them later without rebuilding the menu.
Outcome: Practical steps provided to hide blog links while leaving posts published. The approach aligns with the goal of keeping content live yet not visible in standard navigation.
Status: Addressed with clear options; no unresolved questions noted.
Hi @karensshop ,
I would suggest to take out the links that would route the customers to the blogs. The customer wont be able to see those blogs unless they will know the link
Hello @karensshop ,
You can simply remove the “blog” link from your navigation menu.
Thanks, I’m not sure how to remove the links in the code?
Hi @karensshop , you can also temporarily hide navigation menu items with MenuQoL. Saves you the work of rebuilding the menu later.
