Can I change the store’s domain once I reopen it?
If you have an existing custom domain that’s currently connected to your store, you aren’t able to change its name as domains cannot be edited, however, you can purchase a new domain and set it as a primary domain. So it’s possible to have a new domain that reflects your new store name.
I also need to mention you have the option to change your myshopify domain, although this isn’t crucial as it’s not visible to your customers when you set a custom domain as your primary domain. Changing your myshopify domain is only essential if you use it as your primary domain. If this isn’t the case I don’t recommend changing it as doing so only changes how it appears to your customers. Your original myshopify domain will still be used in the admin, for logging in and for contacting our support team.
Will my new store work with all my previous settings?
Since it hasn’t been 2 years since you closed your store, all your data and settings will be restored so yes, it will work and you can continue where you left off.
Will I have to set up Shopify Payments again?
If you previously activated it, you won’t need to set it up again. Although, if your tax or business information has changed, you’ll need to contact our support team to have it updated.
