Does anyone know if it’s possible to redirect /collections/all to the homepage? I can do this for others but it seems there is something specific about this url
No, you can not redirect that url as it will not 404. You can however create a collection with that same handle should you want to have more control over the content that shows. For example pick what products show or even use an alternate template so show entirely different content.
