Hey all,
I recently deactivated my Shopify store (2021) since I just didn’t have the time to work on it.
I received an email regarding a renewal reminder for the domain name, but totally forgot to renew it prior to expiry.
Is there any way I can retrieve this domain name? It was purchased through Shopify when I originally initiated it.
Any help would be appreciated!

Do you know the date of expiry? Depending on when the domain expired, we may be able to help. Since we will need to access your account to look into this for you, please visit our Help Center. Once you log in to your account you can create a support request through live chat, email, or callback. To do so, type your request in ‘Ask about a topic’, scroll down to ‘Get Support’, and then click ‘Continue.’ From there, you can submit your request to speak with an advisor.

my domain name actually expired on 3/10/22. I just received an email at 7 AM today saying that the domain name was locked to Shopify servers.
As for opening the account in the future, yes! I’m currently in the process of designing my site to move away from another selling platform.
