Last year Shopify closed my shop because I made a mistake using Shopify payment system for prohibited product (male sex toys). I was using a third party hosted URL.
My question is:
If I open a new shop on Shopify using a third-party payment system like PayPal, can I use the same URL (third party host) of my previously closed Shop?
Is my domain flagged? I will be blocked by Shopify or whatever if I use the same URL for my new shop?
FYI Shopify chat support told to contact the legal team with my ticket number but I never get any answer from them. I am stuck with my question.
Welcome to the Shopify community forums. I definitely understand your concern about opening a new store after your last one was closed by our Trust and Safety team.
In regards to your store domain URL, generally speaking store URLs are not directly restricted in any way. Ownership for a domain expires and turns over regularly, so that is usually not an issue. There is always a chance that if you create a new store that your merchant account may not be supported on the platform though.
The best way to find out is to create a new trial store and choose a paid plan. Even if you choose a plan, you still get the entirety of your free trial to finish setting up. If your merchant account has no issues then you should be able to continue working on your store right away.
You mentioned that you are considering using PayPal as a payment gateway for your store. I don’t believe PayPal will be a good fit for you either. You can see in their Acceptable Use Policy that they also have restrictions on “obscene” or “sexually oriented material”.
